Our first event at Haunted Hills and we couldn’t have asked for better weather…is how I would start this post if the weather had been nice. Hah!
As the office wasn’t open at that stage, we managed to get through drivers sign in while stationed on the floor in a wind tunnel.
Viv conducted possibly the greatest drivers briefing ever:
Turn 1: The most dangerous corner on the track.
Turn 2: Also the most dangerous corner on the track.
Turn 3: Even more dangerous than corners 1 & 2!
This is going to be interesting!
It was the first time at Haunted Hills for most drivers, so it was great to see the usual Winton and DECA crew trying their hand at something different.
Agno’s car still makes my eyeballs happy every time I see it.
There is no such thing as just one Chaser at an EXE event. They are always rolling 30 (read: 4-5) cars deep!
Even the wind and rain cannot mess with Winston’s famously styled hair.
Charlie’s brings his daily doily mobile out to play. It rips skids. True story.
Honda kids work around the clock to unlock the vtecs.
Bryan’s out for his first grip event in the 7.
He does well and cements his place in history as THE ultimate coffee boss.

After another…
All eyes are on the clock.
Paddington was out setting down some incredible lap times in the hands of the legendary Charger. In fact, his times we’re so good that we’ve now renamed a corner after him!
All in a days work.
Josh has come all the way from Canada to attend his first track day ever.
His (borrowed) noble stead “Gramps” has been converted and runs an EJ20/25t(?).
The weather changed from sunny to rainy several times during the day but Choonga wasn’t going to take any chances.
Not to be outdone, Tony busted out his stitch hat.
Viv in his super cheater car posted great lap times as always. Thanks for taking me out for a drive!
Napo’s happy that he’s made it this far into the day without smashing his phone.
As the weather gods smiled on us, lap times begun to fall and it was obvious that everyone was becoming more comfortable with pushing their cars in the figure eight configuration.
As for me, I was initially quite apprehensive about attending this event as we all knew that the risk of making a mistake on this track had far greater consequences than any other track that we usually attend.
That being said, this proved to be amazing fun and I had an awesome time pushing the Roadster around the tight twisty stuff. The changes in elevation make for a very interesting drive!
