After being offered some free tickets to Top Gear festival, I decided to head up to Sydney to work for a week and catch up with the usual suspects in between.
Sunday starts with a rainbow and an early morning twisty run.
The rainbow was an entirely appropriate omen as the vehicles we were cruising in were…
I learn that you can indeed drive faster than the rain with the roof off.
After a few hours on the road through the twisty stuff, a wild Benny appears!
We then made our way to Ingleburn to raid the Ichiban workshop.
Marty attempts to swap over the tiniest steering wheel in the world to a normal one.
Like a boss…kit.
There’s always cool stuff to check out at the shop.
The newly repurchased Ichiban R32 drift car.
Which was fitted with a co branded K&N/Mine’s filter.
The Ichiban drift kart.
Spotted a familiar face! Glanza conversion kit if anyone with a Starlet life wants a JDM front.
This mirror later ended up in someone’s car. I wonder how long it will take before he notices?
Benny hooks me up with some parts for the Starlet and some Thai Redbull to keep me awake after the early morning start. Thanks for the heart palpitations Bro!
Energy was required because the next stop was Revesby Karts!
The second storey has progressed a bit more since I was last here.
I laughed when I saw this photo. I didn’t realise there was that much size and height difference between Benny and I!
Patiently waiting for my turn to unleash the fury.
Marty, Benny and I repped hard and took out all three records on offer. A new PB for Marty of 22.9 and a new PB for me of 23.3!
It’s tiring being a PB machine.
Oh Sydney, you have so much to answer for. 😦
For dinner, I headed to the city to meet up with SVP and Aytac.
Don’t let the phone camera fool you. The kid has skills! Check out his photos here.
The ramen was delicious! Definitely one of the tastiest I’ve had since Japan!
